Position Title: Program Manager

Type of Employment: Exempt, Full-Time, Permanent

Location: Austin, Texas (remote). This role is 100% remote but requires frequent travel to partner meetings and events within Austin, Texas.

Salary Range: $55,000 - $65,000 annually

About Good Work Austin

Good Work Austin (GWA) envisions a healthier Austin connected and uplifted by the local food and beverage community. To achieve that vision, GWA partners with local food and beverage business owners and their teams to create a stronger community through advocacy for more equitable hospitality industry practices, ongoing training and workforce education. GWA is a 501(c)3 with over 180 restaurant members that participate regularly in GWA’s trainings, networking meetings, and/or meal distributions.

Purpose of the Position

The Program Manager is responsible for the effective management and coordination of Good Work Austin’s programs. This role focuses on ensuring program success through meticulous planning, execution, and partnership management. The Program Manager will work closely with internal staff and external stakeholders to achieve program objectives in alignment with the organization's mission and vision.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Program Management (50%)

  • Lead projects that align with the organization's goals, vision, and strategy.
  • Create and maintain program-related documentation and records.
  • Ensure that program activities operate within organizational policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with leadership on project risks and potential roadblocks.
  • Ensure that project team members are using project management to increase coordination and communication.
  • Create internal and external written program materials including partnership agreements, informational flyers, presentations and other documents.
  • Support operational maintenance for programs department including, but not limited to, file organization and maintaining SOPs and related materials.
  • Manage budgeted program expenditures for projects.

Relationship Management and Outreach (30%)

  • Develop and strengthen relationships with restaurant partners, community organizations, and other key stakeholders.
  • Identify, pursue, secure, and maintain strategic partner relationships.
  • Communicate with partners and program stakeholders regularly to maintain strong relationships, monitor progress on agreements (where applicable) and identify growth opportunities.
  • Support the development of partnership goals, key performance indicators and partnership models.

Data Management, Reporting and Budgeting (20%)

  • Responsible for supporting organizational and grant/contract reporting.
  • Ensures data accuracy within programs.
  • Assist in the evaluation of data to improve program effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Additional reporting as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in using technology.
  • Passion for social justice and food systems work.
  • At least two years of work experience in the nonprofit and/or food and beverage field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or higher in a related field.
  • Proficiency in data management.
  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities.
